WHY SILICON VALLEY?

Silicon Valley is home to 1/3 of all venture capital in the US. It is also where companies like Apple, Facebook and Google are based.

BILL DRAPER

One of the Godfathers of venture capital in Silicon Valley, Bill started his career in 1959 at his father’s venture capital rm, Draper Gaither & Anderson, which was the rst venture capital rms established on the West Coast. Later on, he went on to found Draper Johnson, and Sutter Hill Ventures, one of the most successful venture capital rms in the US.

CLEVER

Clever has been successful in being one of the rst EdTech companies to gain the funding and support of Sequoia Capital. In the space of three years, it has grown from 2 to over 100 employees, reaching close to 50% of all US public schools, and boasting an 81% penetration of top school districts throughout the US. Professor David Passig is a futurist who received his PhD in Anticipatory Anthropology from the University of Minnesota. He specialises in technological, social and educational futures. He is an Associate Professor at Bar-Ilan University, and heads the Graduate Programme in Information and Communication Technology and the Virtual Reality Laboratory at the School of Education.
